Meanwhile, the Hero of this story—Jeremy; Mr. UPS Temptation—is the opposite of Deanna in all ways; he is light, where she is dark, he is truth, where she is lies, he is normal, while she is not. Although I thought it was tragically beautiful how Jeremy was Deanna's secret hearts desire. He gave her hope, fed her desires in the best and worst of ways.

The plot itself was just...wow. Gripping. Compelling. Killer-crazy intense. It made for a journey that was everything and more: suspenseful, shocking, heartbreaking, and hopeful.
And A.R. Torre's writing was stunning; her grip onto he heroine's mind so strong you couldn't help but think all the macabre, sensual thoughts along with Deanna. That, along with the book's multiple POVs, really gave the story an unparalleled dynamic that had me gritting my teeth as I turned the pages for moremoremoreMORE.

Because overall, The Girl in 6E captivated my thoughts and emotions, twisted and turned them into something gruesome and ugly—something I was enthralled to keep reading—while thrusting me me into a dark, erotic world, where a beauty with a wicked mind, broken heart, and ravaged soul, hides among the madness of death and desire.

Messed up but SO interesting

That was a pretty messed up read but so interesting. Jessica aka Deanna clearly has demons that she is fighting with. And to help curb the appetite of those demons she locks herself away into apartment 6E. She makes money by web camming (a sickly fascinating career by the way) and her only interaction with others is either over the web, occasionally on the phone and through her door. She has had this existence for three years and this book is a peek into why she is living this way and what happens when her orderly yet dysfunctional word is turned upside down by a missing girl.
Much of the book is spent setting up the life of Jessica, how she lives without going outside, who her clients are, and her daily routine. For about the first half of the book, I was intrigued but wondering where in the world the book was going...until you get there. What happens when Jessica's little world is set askew by an AMBER alert. You become accustom the Jessica's world, how she lives, why she does what she does. You become unreasonably comfortable with the way things are and then you along with Jessica are abruptly forced to face many of the things that you have been hiding from.
This book is probably not for everyone, as it was pretty crazy. It's only erotic in sense of description and Jessica's choice of career. The book itself is more of a psycho-erotic thriller. I am cannot wait to find out where the sequel is going to go, because while you are not left hanging, Jessica's story is clearly not over.

Scary, creepy and intriguing

Oh my this book was not what I expected at all. Now my third read by this author, I now realize, I need to expect the unexpected.
Once the story put me on the edge of my seat I couldn't put it down. Not even close to what I normally read, but it was chosen by my book club and since I was familiar with the author's style and enjoyed her previous books I joined in the 'fun'.
Note: There's nothing funny about this book. It's written beautifully and there's angst throughout. Not for the faint at heart, and different doesn't begin to describe this story. When I realized there was a child involved I cursed myself for signing up for the 'fun', but I have to say it was worth every agonizing moment.
The book does not end in a cliffhanger so may be read as a standalone even though there are more books available. Once I get up the courage and read a few lighthearted books I'll be sure to jump in again. Deanna Madden is one crazy character.
