Today, he is the Head Pastry Chef of the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong, boasting 6 Michelin Stars under one roof and voted Best Pastry Chef in Hong Kong for 2013. His family background, from the Rhône Valley in the south of Switzerland, brought him his passion for authentic food and especially for bread and pastries. Today, to perpetuate his family tradition and share his passion, Grégoire has published several books on baking and pastries; and enjoys organizing baking outing in the country side, using old fashioned wood fire oven to bake breads and tarts. A decent book, a requirement for my FOL in college

Diversité: La Nouvelle Francophone, was for my college foreign language requirement in college. The story contains many depressing stories, but these depressing stories are relatively true to French/French colonial history. Therefore, they provide an accurate portrayal of the experiences of colonized countries. Each story as a very memorable underlying theme to it, and it requires readers to think a little more into the meaning of the story.

At times, the text is a bit difficult to read, so an intermediate background in French would be very helpful :)

"Diversité: La Nouvelle Francophone" is an excellent book that introduces both elementary and intermediate french students to a wide variety of great french-language short stories and the different francophone countries from which they originate. Senegal, Guadeloupe, Quebec and the Congo are a few places featured.
Entries from such diverse authors as J.-M. G. LeClézio, Ousmane Sembène and Lori Saint-Martin make this book a must-have for those who not only want to learn the about the French language, but the francophone culture as well. A VERY useful book!

She earned her BS (physical education/health/biology) from Indiana State University. Robbins was instrumental in the development of the nationally recognized fitness/wellness requirement at Ball State. She has given many national presentations and published several articles and book chapters about Ball State’s fitness/wellness program and assessment of this program. Robbins developed the 500-Yard Water Run, a cardiorespiratory endurance fitness test for non-swimming water exercisers, and the AquaCircuit, a pool circuit-training program. She has received honor awards from the Aquatic Council of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance and the Indiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. Robbins’s current research and in-demand presentations focus on the lifestyle changes of college students and university wellness course format and assessment.

Debbie Powers is Assistant Professor Emeritus in the School of Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Science at Ball State University. She retired in 2006 after 30 years of teaching fitness and wellness classes at Ball State. Powers earned her MA in physical education at Ball State University and an additional 30 hours in Wellness Education. She received her BS in physical education and health from Indiana University. A former Division I college basketball player, Powers served as head women’s basketball coach at Ball State for 5 years. Before her tenure at Ball State she taught physical education and coached at the high school level. Powers’s teaching and research interests include wellness education, fitness, nutrition and weight management. Powers assisted in the development of the nationally recognized fitness/wellness requirement at Ball State University, and has given numerous national and regional presentations on the development, content, and assessment of this undergraduate core curriculum requirement. She has published articles and book chapters in the areas of wellness, assessment, and basketball. In retirement she continues to speak to community groups on a variety of wellness topics and teaches community fitness classes.

Sharon Burgess is a Physical Therapist and Assistant Professor Emeritus in the School of Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Science at Ball State University. She retired in 2008 after teaching fitness and wellness classes for 32 years at Ball State. Burgess earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and an MS in Physical Therapy at the University of Indianapolis. She received an MS in Sport Psychology/Motor Learning and a BS in Physical Education at Florida State University, where she was a nationally ranked distance runner and synchronized swimmer. She was head women’s track and cross-country coach at Ball State for 8 years. Publications include book chapters on bicycling and aquatic exercise for people with disabilities. Burgess has made presentations nationally and internationally, including teaching large lectures, aerobics, and strength training. Honor awards include Outstanding Tenured Teacher in the School of Physical Education and the Leadership Recognition Award from the Indiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Burgess continues to work with athletes in orthopedic and sports physical therapy as a healthcare traveler.

I only bought this because I have to

If this wasn't required for my class I would have never bought it. It's not a horrible book, but I have taken other health classes that used other books. The other books were far more informative and filled with less superficial information. I recently read the chapter on addition for a paper, and I was less than thrilled with the inaccuracy of the information. The information clashed with all the medical journals (such as the DSM, for one)on the same topic. If you don't know much about health, it's a good book to start with. Just take some of the information in the text with a grain of salt.

Unexpected package.

The book was not in as good as condition as it listed on the website. the cover was all messed up, edges were torn and ripped. All around the cover was not what the listing was described it as. Now I'm stuck with a book that I have to sell that's torn up. The pages are okay, but everything else is torn up. I gave it a 2 because the pages are perfectly fine, it's just the cover that isn't!

Incredible book. Bought to fullfill requirements of pre-requisites in College and became a hot commodity at home. Nutrition, stress management, wellness etc. Buy it for leisure if you are concern of your quality of life, especially if you have kids and family.

Standard whoops what did my wife do. Story line very good. Work up and back ground very good. Lots of descriptive action "EDGE OF SEAT" leaves the chance of a repeat with the same characters different party. Blackmail????.

About the Author
Harry (Hap) McSween is Chancellor's Professor at the University of Tennessee. He has conducted research on cosmochemistry for more than three decades and was one of the original proponents of the hypothesis that some meteorites are from Mars. He has been a co-investigator for four NASA spacecraft missions and serves on numerous advisory committees for NASA and the US National Research Council. Dr McSween has written or edited four books on meteorites and planetary science, and co-authored a textbook in geochemistry. He is a former President and Fellow of the Meteoritical Society, a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, recipient of the Leonard Medal, and has an asteroid named for him.

Gary Huss is a Research Professor and Director of the W. M. Keck Cosmochemistry Laboratory at the Hawaii Institute for Geophysics and Planetology, University of Hawaii at Manoa. In more than three decades of research on cosmochemistry, he was among the first to study presolar grains, the raw materials for the Solar System. He presently studies the chronology of the early Solar System. He comes from a family of meteorite scientists: his grandfather, H. H. Nininger, has been called the father of modern meteoritics, and his father, Glenn Huss, and grandfather were responsible for recovering over 500 meteorites previously unknown to science. Dr Huss is a former President and Fellow of the Meteoritical Society and also has an asteroid named for him.

A great book and a very good introduction to this new fascinating area named Cosmochemistry. I want to congratulate the authors specially for the microanalysis techniques summary in the end of the book. The magnetic sector SIMS, CAMECA 1280-HR is very well described. Thank you!

Thoughtful Book, But Not for Law Students

"The Constitution of South Africa" calls itself a "contextual analysis" of the South African constitution. Basically, it's a meditation on the pivotal role played by democratic constitutionalism in resolving the crisis of apartheid and framing a new polity able (maybe) to overcome South Africa's legacy of inequality and deprivation. Along the way, the book provides an overview of the structures and functioning of the South African government as mandated by the 1996 constitution. However, the book is NOT a legal exegesis of the constitution -- there is little close analysis of text or case law, and big parts of the new constitutional dispensation (such as civil liberties) are barely mentioned. It is also NOT a political history of democratic South Africa, although there are many references to post-1994 developments, including the rift between Mbeki and Zuma, and the impact of the ANC's near-monopoly on politics. The book is wise and realistic, but readers should know what they are getting.
